SYMPHONY OF SHADOWS– the new morbid fantasia from theater director and choreographer (and my frequent collaborator) Rachel Klein is coming to New York City, opening this Thursday.  It is a world premiere Mondo Cane Dance Commission from Dixon Place, located in Manhattan's Lower East Side.   I'm working on the show in a few capacities– I worked on the sleep paralysis-heavy storyline with Rachel, and I'm doing the sound editing as well.  More information is available here and tickets are available here.

The piece features night terrors, sleep paralysis, hypnosis, and a variety of mind-bending phenomena conveyed by aerialists, dancers, circus performers, actors, and dozens of multi-talented individuals.  It features a live violin concerto written and performed by Sean Hagerty, stars the Rachel Klein Theater Ensemble: Ted Caine, Brian Ferree, Danielle Marie Fusco, Xavier Hageman, Zahra Hashemian, Abdiel Jacobsen, Christina Johnson, Natasha King, Kristen Lee, Freddy Mancilla, K Mazing, Danny Mendoza, Nicki Miller, Robyn Nielsen, Megan O’Connor, Scooter Pie, Michael Porsche, Evgeniya Radilova, Brian Rubiano, Eric Schmalenberger, Francis Stallings, and Elizabeth Stewart; features Costumes by Kae Burke with Rachel Klein and Elena Delgado; a story by Sean Gill and Rachel Klein; stage Management by Marina Steinberg.
It plays on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in June (June 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:30pm) at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street, between Delancey and Rivington).  You can arrive there by subway– the F at 2nd Ave., the J or Z to Bowery, the 6 to Spring, the M to Essex, or the B or D to Grand Street.

I hope some of you can make it out!
