The plot is as follows: Upon dying, Maria Macabre is not granted eternal slumber, but instead a whirling, kaleidoscopic carnival of horrors: a morbid funhouse where humanity is stripped away and a permanent place in the gruesome chorus line is all but assured. Flavorpill calls Rachel "a mistress of the macabre" and BeaconPass calls it "darkly glamorous" and proposes that "rarely do you get to witness someone else’s nightmares — and rarely are they so vivid."
